Motif Homes latest design input in Homes & Gardens Article, Here’s Why Word Art Still Has a Place in Your Home, is short and sweet…

“According to most design experts, word art should be used in small doses as too much of it can feel kitschy. “Moderation is key,” says Tiffany Matthews, founder and lead designer of Motif Homes.”

Moderation is definitely key when it comes to word art and we have a little bit more to add on the topic.

Single word art is oftentimes overwhelming because it is bold, not to scale, and too much of a focal point. If you have to tell what the room should feel or be, you've missed the mark. Try swapping single word art with a meaningful verse or lyric that resonates personally and sits subtly in the background. Customize its font and color to match the overall aesthetic and display it in a more personal space, like the bedroom. Remember, moderation is key; using word art sparingly achieves better results, as less truly is more.

We hope you enjoyed our commentary on word art. This is an example of small details adding up to a big picture. Are you ready to take your space to the next level? Click here to get started on your next design project.
