AT-HOME COFFEE STATION

“A coffee, tea, and drink station is a kitchen must-have. Here are our go-to tips when designing and styling your at-home coffee station. Also, have some fun and let this be a space where you espresso yourself!”

While the days of the $5 cup of coffee aren’t completely gone, we can say our clients are asking for dedicated coffee, tea, and drink stations for personal use and hosting.

In new construction and renovations/remodels, an at-home coffee station is intentionally built into the plan from the very beginning, maxing out the details for optimal storage. This space is dedicated and designed with separation from other high-traffic flow areas in the kitchen, range, sink, and refrigerator.

Here are our design go-tos for this space:

-Lower cabinetry stores coffee pod and tea drawer organizers, trash can, and ice maker.

-Upper storage is an open and closed combo. Display unique items like coffee mugs, vessels, and artwork on open shelving. We are a stickler for hiding coffee, tea, trays, extra mugs, hand-held milk frother, syrup dispensers, and beverage accessory containers.

-Save the countertop space for your favorite beverage maker. We love the Wolf gourmet coffee maker, Wolf electric kettle, Cafe Du Chateau french press, and even the more eccentric Neretva professional coffee machine for the espresso, latte, and cappuccino lovers out there.

-Keep counter clutter to a minimum. Meaning, select one coffee or tea option, live or artificial greenery, and a serving tray with cloche for pastries to display.

Key takeaways for an at-home coffee station are to be specific with how it functions, keep it small, maximize storage options, and most of all, let your personality shine through with design and selections.
